March 8th is International Women’s Day and we would like to take this opportunity to honor all women from all walks of life. We are pleased to be a practice that assists women and their families take charge of their health affecting generations of women and men.
Hereditary Care Center provides genetic counseling and testing for a variety of potentially hereditary cancers that can affect blood-related relatives. As we honor women today, it is a great time to remind women to discuss their family health history with their bloodline relatives to determine whether there is a family history of cancers that could have a genetic mutation that is hereditary.
Women are often the gateway to healthcare for the entire family and although the genetic mutations are inherited by men and women and passed along by both, women can take the leadership role in assuring that their family’s potential for cancers is addressed. It is possible that counseling and potential testing is not necessary and you can discover that by completing the Hereditary Cancer Quiz.
